The Ayan Mukherji directorial Brahmastra starring Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt hit screens on Friday to an overwhelming response from the audience. Also starring Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna, and Mouni Roy the film whose advance bookings commence nearly a week before its release witnessed immense audience patronage over its first two days. In fact, Brahmastra saw an increase of around 10% on its second day running. Now, on its third day, the film which continues to hold the audiences’ interest looks set to see its collections spike yet again.
Looking at Ranbir Kapoor’s previous releases, Brahmastra which managed to rake in around Rs. 36 cr. on its first day is expected to cross the Rs. 100 cr. mark at the domestic box office by the end of its third day. Released across over 5000 screens within the Indian market, Brahmastra has featured one of the widest releases ever. This wide release pattern, coupled with the fact that it faces no competition at the box office, and immense hype surrounding the film is sure to drive collections even further. As per early predictions, Brahmastra looks set to emerge as Ranbir Kapoor’s 4th Rs. 100 cr. grosser at the India box office by the end of its third day running.
As of now, Brahmastra which has seen more shows being added; with certain locations running the film round the clock is likely to set new box office benchmarks post the pandemic. In fact, trade predictions paint a highly positive picture of the film’s overall business, citing that Brahmastra has a two week open window at the box office to maximise its business.
