The much talked about and keenly anticipated Ayan Mukherji directorial Brahmastra starring Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt hit screens last week on Friday. Also featuring Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna, and Mouni Roy the film saw a massive release across over 9000 screens worldwide. Interestingly, despite the massive release pattern, in the domestic market, certain locations saw the addition of shows to accommodate audience demand. In the overseas markets as well, Brahmastra seems to have captured the audiences’ attention managing to emerge as one of the most watched films.
In fact, Brahmastra has fast become a global phenomenon managing to rake in a staggering USD 26 million [Rs. 207 cr.] over its opening weekend alone. Interestingly, looking at the weekend worldwide box office, Brahmastra has topped the charts as the highest weekend grosser surpassing other releases like Give Me Five [20.91 mil. USD], Confidential Assignment 2: International, Barbarian, Bullet Train, and Top Gun: Maverick.
Going forward, Brahmastra is expected to continue its box office run, facing little to no competition, the business of the film is certain to see further growth. Trade predictions state that Brahmastra which has shattered expectations will see immense growth over its first week.
