Brahmastra is showing an unheard trend at the box office in India. After showing higher than usual drops on the weekdays, the film is showing a pretty good jump on its second Friday. According to early estimates, Brahmastra is looking to earn in the range of Rs. 10.25 to 11.25 crores on Day 8 to take the total collections to Rs. 181.50 crores. The jump is there across the board in the multiplexes whereas the single screens too have held like a rock on second Friday.
In fact, the film has defied all trends of the second Friday, since the multiplexes have shown a jump whereas the single screens are showing no drop as compared to Thursday. The Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt film is now targeting the second weekend of at least Rs. 42 crores, which should take the 10-day total to Rs. 212 crore nett. The second-weekend biz will be dominated by the Hindi version, as the South dubbed version has already done its job.
Of the Rs. 181.50 crores, Brahmastra has collected Rs. 161 crores from the Hindi version and another Rs. 20.5 crores from the South Dubbed version. The unexpected jump on Friday has consolidated the success status for the film and if the weekend shows an upward trend too, the film will cruise closer to the hit verdict.
A lifetime collection (All India) of Rs. 250 crores will put the team of Brahmastra in a good position, and lay down the platform for part 2, Dev, with which the film will target even higher numbers. The film will surpass Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 collections (Rs. 185 crores) on Saturday morning and Sooryavanshi (Rs. 195 crores) numbers will be history latest by Sunday morning. With this Brahmastra will be termed the second biggest grosser of pandemic times after The Kashmir Files (Rs. 252.90 crores). If it shows a good hold on the 2nd Monday, the numbers of The Kashmir Files too will be surpassed in the long run, and in all possibility, it will be the biggest grossing Hindi film of pandemic times.
