Brahmastra Box Office: Film becomes Ayan Mukerji’s first and over all 28th film to enter the Rs. 200 crore club

The Ayan Mukerji directorial Brahmastra that hit over 5000 screens in India a litter more than a week ago has been doing brisk business at the box office. Ending the dry spell Bollywood releases have been seeing, the Ranbir Kapoor – Alia Bhatt starrer which came with immense hopes and expectations has far surpassed them. After a stellar start, the business of Brahmastra has been seeing constant growth. After crossing the Rs. 100 cr mark, the business of the film has now managed to make it across the Rs. 200 cr mark.

Collecting Rs. 208 cr within just 10 days of its release Brahmastra has emerged as the 28th film to achieve this feat. If that was not enough, when compared to other releases that have managed to enter this exclusive club, Brahmastra currently ranks at 23rd, surpassing the collections of releases like Golmaal Again, Good Newwz, Happy New Year, Mission Mangal and 3 Idiots. Interestingly, the film continues to run in theatres and is expected to see a further rise in its standing among releases that have crossed the Rs. 200 cr mark.

As for the film’s director, with Brahmastra making its entry into the Rs. 200 cr club, Ayan Mukerji makes his debut with the film being his first Rs. 200 cr grosser. In fact, with Brahmastra Ayan now joins the likes of Sanjay Leela bhansali, Kabir Khan, Om Raut, Sandeep Reddy Vanga, Sooraj Barjatiya and other directors who have one film each that has managed to enter the Rs. 200 cr club.
