Things are turning out to be fabulous for Brahmastra. Though there was a drop on Monday and then Tuesday to Thursday too saw some dip in numbers (though not at all alarming), there has been a turnaround in the second weekend with a bit of that lost ground been covered. After a massive jump of more than 50% in Friday, the film grew even further on Sunday, which has been a very good sign.
The Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt starrer brought in Rs. 17 crores* more which is greater than what the film had collected on Monday (Rs. 16 crores) and that means there is good acceptance amongst the audiences. Of course, this isn’t a KGF: Chapter 2 (Hindi) in the making but the trajectory so far indicates that it would be on the same lines as RRR (Hindi) or may be fall short by just Rs. 10-12 crores. However, that by itself is massive as well as the SS Rajamouli directed film came with all around positivity while the Ayan Mukherji creation was operating in an altogether opposite territory prior to its arrival. Still, to end up earning a lifetime in vicinity of each other is nothing short of tremendous. In fact, it will not be wrong to say that the Karan Johar and Star Studios production could well have surpassed RRR (Hindi) had it got even 25% of the kind of support that the south release had fetched.
Nonetheless, the makers would still be pleased with where Brahmastra is finding themselves now, what with Rs. 213 crores* in its kitty already. Before the close of week the film should cross the Rs. 230 crores mark and from there on it would be an exciting journey towards the Rs. 250 crores milestone, and then beyond.
*Estimates. Final numbers awaited
